Plant-based fine dining, not garnish promotion
Most kitchens treat a vegan request as a subtraction problem: take the menu, remove the animal, promote the garnish. We treat it as a cuisine with its own logic. A plant-based tasting menu here is built from the ground up: fire and smoke doing the work fat usually does, Portuguese produce at the height of its season, fermentation and reduction building the depth that makes a course feel finished. Guests who did not choose the format routinely say the vegan courses were the night's best, which is the standard the menu is designed to meet.
Vegan menus for retreats, villas and mixed tables
The vegan brief arrives in three shapes. The fully plant-based celebration, where the whole table eats one menu and the kitchen runs vegan end to end. The mixed table, most common at villas, where plant-based dishes anchor the menu and omnivore courses run alongside without anyone feeling like the exception. And the multi-day residency for yoga and wellness programs, where our retreat chef service keeps a plant-forward kitchen inside your venue for the whole program, menus rotating daily around the market. All three price per guest, in writing, within 24 hours.

Vegan private chef, questions
How much does a vegan private chef cost in Portugal?
The same as our other formats: €90–160 per guest in 2026 for a 3–4 course dinner and €120–180 for a plant-based tasting menu, all-in with ingredients, chef, service team, setup and cleanup. Plant-based is a cuisine here, not a discount or a surcharge.
Is the menu actually vegan, or vegetarian with adjustments?
Actually vegan when you book it vegan: no dairy, eggs or honey anywhere in the menu, with the kitchen run accordingly. Vegetarian, plant-forward with fish, and fully mixed tables are separate briefs we also cook, agreed in writing beforehand.
Can you feed a mixed table of vegans and omnivores?
Yes, and it is the most common brief: one coherent menu where the plant-based dishes are the backbone and omnivore courses run in parallel, so nobody eats a side salad while others get the real cooking. Both halves of the table order from conviction, not compromise.
What does Portuguese plant-based cooking look like?
Better than its reputation: tomatoes and peppers with real flavour, mushroom and chestnut depth, olive oil as a first language, grilled vegetables over fire, arroz malandrinho reinvented, and desserts built on almond, citrus and olive oil rather than substitution products.
Do you cook for vegan retreats and multi-day stays?
Yes, multi-day plant-based residencies for retreats and villa stays run €80–150 per guest per day depending on meal count, with menus rotating daily. Retreat organizers get partnership terms for recurring programs.
Which regions do you cover?
All of Portugal: Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, Comporta, Porto and the whole Algarve, at homes, villas and retreat venues. Travel is itemised in the proposal.
