From Tavira's quiet east to Sagres at the world's end, the Algarve is a 150-kilometre string of villas that all face the same question at 6pm: who cooks tonight? We answer it across the whole coast, with the golden triangle, Albufeira's villa country, Carvoeiro's cliffs and Lagos's west as weekly territory. The supply chain is the region's unfair advantage: Olhão and Quarteira fish markets, Loulé's Saturday produce, citrus and almonds from the barrocal, all inside an hour of any table we set.
Villa dinners, golf weeks and the Algarve calendar
The Algarve brief has seasons within seasons: family villa weeks in July and August, golf societies in the March-to-May and September-to-October windows, festive weeks that book by late October, and a spring shoulder that locals keep quiet about. Group dinners of 8 to 20 at €100 to 160 per guest are the constant across all of them. Summer Saturdays deserve 3 to 4 weeks of notice; the rest of the year moves faster, and short notice is always worth asking.
