Private dining in Lisbon: room or chef?
For a group of 10 to 20, Lisbon offers two kinds of private dining. A restaurant's private room gives you the restaurant's kitchen and setting, usually with a set menu, a minimum spend and a time when the room is needed back. A private chef gives you the evening on your terms: your home or villa, one long table, a menu written for the group and no one waiting for the table.
The private chef route works best when the occasion is personal: a fortieth or fiftieth birthday, a family reunion with three generations, a group of friends who rented a house in Príncipe Real or Cascais for the weekend, a client dinner where conversation matters more than the scene.
Group dinners for 10 to 20 guests
At this size the service model matters. We size the kitchen and service team to the group, so glasses stay full and every course reaches the table together and the group eats as one. Family style, with sharing platters down the table, suits groups who prefer a relaxed, generous rhythm.
Menus follow the occasion: a celebration might open with canapés and a glass of Portuguese sparkling wine standing up, then sit down for four courses; a client dinner might be a tighter three courses that leave room for the conversation.

Private dining in Lisbon, questions
What is private dining with a chef?
Instead of booking a restaurant's private room, a chef team comes to your home, villa or rented space, cooks a menu designed for your group and serves it at your table. You keep the room, the music and the evening's pace.
How much does private dining in Lisbon cost for a group?
For 10 to 14 guests plan on €130–170 per guest, and €120–160 for 15 to 20, VAT included, with the chef team, service staff, setup and cleanup. A dinner for 12 typically lands between €1,560 and €2,040 before wine.
Is it more expensive than a restaurant private room?
Usually comparable once you add a restaurant's minimum spend, service charge and wine mark-up. The difference is what you get: one menu written for your group, no fixed end time and no other tables.
Can you host the dinner if we don't have a big enough place?
We cook wherever you choose: your home, a rented villa or apartment, an estate in Sintra or a private event space. If you need a venue, tell us the group size and style and we will suggest options.
Which occasions do you cater?
Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, groups of friends visiting Lisbon, client and team dinners, and wedding-week welcome or rehearsal dinners.
Can everyone order something different?
We design one menu with alternatives planned in, for example a fish or meat main and vegetarian or allergy-safe versions of every course, so each guest is looked after without a restaurant-style à la carte.
How far ahead should we book?
Two to three weeks; four to six for December and summer weekends. Midweek dinners can often be arranged at shorter notice.
